On December 31, 1994, Dave Matthews Band closed out the year with a practically legendary show at the Richmond Marriott Grand Ballroom.
Marriott Ballroom’s cozy atmosphere created a connection that larger venues couldn’t replicate, and the New Year’s Eve brought the rest of the magic.
That show marks also the final live performance of “Get in Line”, and definitely captures the raw, infectious energy that defined early DMB—before mainstream fame and larger venues shifted their dynamic.

For this remaster, I've used the DSBD posted by Louie Rendek in 2005 (thanks, bro). The quality of the SBD was very promising, an overall good sound, but it had some issues.
The first phase of the remastering process was carried out in January 2025, and it was focused on the overall quality of the recording. EQ, a mild compression, imaging, and gentle enhancement of the bass and the kick drum.
After a bit of road-testing, though, I wasn't fully happy with the result. I could clearly hear a very disturbing echo that was also noticed by other users:
"Dave's voice faintly (but noticeably) echos in the left channel during some songs".
The second part of the remastering was aimed to minimize this problem. Without going too much into details (and also because I want to keep some of my secrets) I have found a workaround to reduce consistently the echo, which was likely due to the fact that the microphone was picking up a wall reflection from the back left corner of the small venue. The process worked nicely, and I think this is now an A/A+ recording, with standout clarity on instruments and Dave’s vocals.
